Words
cannot possibly begin to convey our deep sadness at the passing
of
one of Hercules and Xena's best-loved actors, Kevin Tod Smith.
Kevin
displayed an enviable range as an actor while on Hercules: the Legendary
Journeys,
portraying not only the deliciously evil Ares, God of War, but also
Iphicles
(human half-brother of Hercules, and King of Corinth), and the
alternate-universe
Ares, God of Love.
Kevin
always displayed great warmth and approachability when encountering
fans
of both Hercules and Xena. That lack of pretention
earned him a place
in
the hearts of all fans in Herkdom and the Xenaverse, that few others have
managed
to attain.
We
in the Herk Clan will miss Kevin dreadfully,
and
wish to convey our sincere condolences to his wife and family.
At
Kevin's memorial, it was announced that the Auckland Theatre Company
will
be receiving donations for the Kevin Smith Trust Fund.
Lucy
Lawless, Michael Hurst, Robert Bruce and Simon Prast are the trustees.
Credit
card donations are accepted.
